Yep, exactly my thoughts Jim. CV does do Nascar stuff and thats why I called them. The guy I talked to was great, he said they don't mess with stuff like mine usually but gave me some options, a really good guy and a big help.
They sell a package with all the brackets, a high flow CV waterpump, CV new style saginaw aluminum power steering pump and resivour, all the hard anodized aluminm pulleys (7% under) minus the alternator and some custom parts for my application, 900$. A bunch of cash but it would be really sweet and work turn key. He said to get a late model denso mini alternator from a passenger car, the ones they sell are for high speed op only and don't charge under 2500, circle track stuff...

I'm looking around and trying to figure out the best aproach, considering doing away with the power steering, and hopefully I'll have a plan soon.

Is it running yet?

Man I hope I can get it out this year, and I think I can, but I'm not making any promises to myself. It sucks not driving it though and I'm pumped to see how well it goes when I'm all done! The heads are going to my buddies this week, and I have been picking away at other items as well. Pulled the headers off to sell (take a look in for sale, I posted an ad, you showed first interest if you want them).

You know I was just thinking about the turbo stuff today, I talked to Trevor about it a couple weeks ago and have not followed up with him. I'll try to get an answer from him this week.
I'm pretty excited to see how your new hotrod turns out too!

I hear ya Jim, I've been looking too. KRC power steering has kits as well that are around 800$ for the same stuff.
The reason the stuff is $$ though is because the kits come with a new aluminum saginaw II power steering pump and resivour and a high flow water pump. I need the water pump anyway, and I have considered the new ps pump, I'm still running the 42 year old unit, but it works. I'm wondering how well it will work at 8k though...
You can get accessory drive kit, no pumps for around 300$. I may be able to buy the drive kits and source the other stuff elsewhere, a new pump and the waterpump from Stewart or someone. A waterpump that will be a good high flow unit will still be pushing 200$ though.
I'm searching or a more cash friendly route, but if you get the drives as a kit you can get a street friendly underdrive and everything will fit and work. Maybe I can get the drive and source the PS and WP elsewhere cheaper....
I'm open to suggestions! :beers:
