A few years ago, I painted the 68 vert in my garage, including all body and prep work. My "spray booth" was a bunch of plastic sheet, and a row of box fans. I left the big door open (covered with plastic) cause it helped the lighting. I painted the car in peices, it just seemed less intimidating that way. Products used include 1 gallon of PPG DBC basecoat, a gallon of 2025 speedclear, and misc. reducers and thinners. I used a 6hp 115v compressor, and a cheap gravity feed gun. This was 6 years ago, it's held up very well.

I thought this was a discussion about the effects of painting at home. I'm really having doubts about spraying mine in my attached garage. I'm concerned about how long the harmful chemicals will linger in the air. Commnets on this subject are welcome.

Some people think I'm out of my mind, but in my defense it's pretty scary in there!

As for the fumes, I bought a good respirator, but not one with an air supply. I had 4 of those box fans lined up, and they sucked the bad air out pretty quick. It was still pretty nasty. Oddly, the catalyzed sandable primer was the worst, stinky stuff.

Yea Don, I did that. Pretty much built that car live on TC from '04 to 07.
Wish I'd taken some more pictures of some of the process.

I'm thinking I might dust off some of the old pictures and recycle some of the stuff.
