Decided to try my 68, 383, th350, 3.73 posi, street tires through the exhaust, on the strip last Friday - Lebanon Dragway, NY track rental - haven't been on a track in 25 years.
Made 4 runs just trying to get the feel of the car & best was 13.94, 99.7mph.
It was 40 degrees and winds were 20 - 30 mph-at 68 yrs young made it difficult to work on car.
However had a great time and learned that I need to do some work on the exhaust so I can open the headers and mostly I need a torque converter - can only torque it to 1400RPM.
Interestingly enough car hooked real good right off the line, 3 leaf springs & no traction bars.
Nice to get back - forgot how much fun it can be - just me & my car against the track.

Glad you had fun at the track. Even more important you did it without any major issues for the car and returned home safely.
Now maybe you will go out a little earlier next yr and get some more tuning and track time in.
