I'm planning on putting a gbar setup with a strange S60 in my car.
The car will have DSE minitubs, 18"X12" wheels probably going with 335/30/18 drag radials or equivalent.
Wondering if you guys have any info and suggestions to offer. Install advice, ordering advice and or comments...etc. Feel free to let loose here, I want to hear it all.

I would join up over at Pro-Touring.com. If I remember correctly you are going for a pro-tour theme anyway with your build and there are many over there that have done the G-Bar in a 1st gen. There are other options too and many over there are able to offer better advice on the options. Your intended goal will help you best determine the suspension you need. Frank Serafine at Prodigy Customs has done many G-bars and others and is a dealer also for Alston.

At this point rear end width doesn't really matter because you don't have one yet. You really need to start with your wheel/tire combo that you plan on running and mock them up in the car(after you've gutted the back half) and then you can determine the actual rear axle with.

I did install my G-bar on my own in my 2nd Gen Z28. I wouldn't say it was terribly difficult and as far as I am concerned it turned out just fine. One of the issues with the G-bar(which is a triangulated 4-link) is exhaust clearance......there is very little. That is why my exhaust dumps after the mufflers. Better success can be had with 2.5" tailpipes but 3" can fit but is very tight and I believe requires the fuel tank to either be narrowed or the corners clipped. This is another area that Frank would be a good source of info.

I would think you will get more answers to your question by posting there if you haven't already.

I'll stick with here. Feels more like home base.
If I searched elsewhere for everything I need to know, I probably wouldn't be here as much.

The more questions brought here, the more answers, the more info is available = more members= more info= more questions....etc...

I understand what your saying Tim but I may be the only one here with a G-bar setup so not a huge information base to draw from today. Maybe and hopefully in the future FirstGens will have enough members with very diverse backgrounds and you will get lots of opinions and answers to your questions from experts that know for sure.

I does feel like home here but sometimes you need to go outside of the normal boundaries to get what you are looking for and quite honestly you are more likely to get a greater number of opinions and replies for what you are looking for at Pro-Touring or Lateral-G. Post up your questions at both and include an invite to our great site....FirstGens .com or include a link and try to get some of those guys to mosey on over here and check it out
