Well my TH350 had major internal failure yesterday. Lost 2nd gear the grinding & scrapping noise coming from inside it sounds like it fell on the ground and was being dragged under the car.It has been in the car for 7 plus years and was a junkyard core with a stock rebuild and shift kit added. My uncle built it for me.I have no complaints because it has been run very hard.I ordered Ron Sessions book today from Amazon and with this link from JakeShoe http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53671 I am going to build the next one myself.I already have a core.(New their was a good reason to save that trans)I will keep this thread updated as I begin the build.Wish me luck.

Good luck for sure. Very ambitious!
I've never been further into an automatic than to take the pan off and put a shift kit in.

I rebuilt mine back around '85
Still have no idea how it works.......
I just dissmantled , laiod everything out on the bench in order, picked up a full rebiuild kit and replaced the parts that where in the kit...
reassembled, fired the car up and went no where!!!!
Pulled it out, disassembled and right down the bottom is the hook thingy that drops in a cog for the park.....put in the right way, reassembled, fired the car up and good for another 150,000 miles.
The secret is benches and everything clean as a kitchen.
Back then an old guy (who has since passed on) said they used to turn down the end of the case and fit in an extra set of clutches for the track.
