So I am on a tight budget, last summer I bought a '90 Dodge Dakota for my son to use. He can't get a job without a ride so I ponied up a grand for the truck, bought a new battery, replaced the front brakes, heater module, wiper blades etc. Then the fuel lines from the hard line to the TBI started leaking, replaced them with EFI lines. Then the trans started shifting late. So I adjusted the throttle pressure cable. It was great for a day or two and slowly got worse. Seems the cable slips in the bracket on the TBI. Dodge no longer makes these cables. So I've tried zip ties and safety wire to keep the sheath from slipping. Now the plastic end that hooks to the throttle arm has broken off  The cable itself has a metal end that is captured in the hollow plastic piece. The fitting on the throttle arm is not a ball, but a post with a flat top on it like a "T". Any ideas? I could use a cut off wheel to remove the broken plastic piece, but in need something that will snap over the cable, be retained by the nub at the end and hook to the "T". I suppose I could slit some brass tubing slide it over the wire solder it, slit a washer, crimp it over the post and solder it to the tubing. But I'd rather use some kind of pre-made fitting if possible.

Where you see the glue is the useless attempt to put the other piece back on.

I'm thinking that there might be a part on a ten speed bike, lots of cables with adjusters and brackets on them.I can't really see how it attaches in the photo.

How about placing everything back together like original hook-up and drill a hole through the cable end and stud for a 4-40 screw(0.112" dia of the screw) and a locknut to hold it together?

Otherwise, remove the stud, drill it for a #8(0.168") or #10(0.190") screw, drill a hole in the plastic cable for a metal bushing, use a flat washer on both sides followed by a locknut? The bushing in plastic to prevent the threads from eating away the plastic.

The stud looks similar to a GM car using a 2004R or 700R4 TV cable. The universal cables for the GM OD transmissions have an end on them that is removable and will attach to a bare cable. Pick one up at the local auto parts store and give it a try.
