For anyone that needs pictures of the installation process of the horn contacts on a '69 Standard steering wheel....I can help with that.

Hopefully this will help someone that finds the AIM a little intimidating at times.........
Here are the pictures that I took of the horn contact installation on my standard wheel.

This picture of the steering column depicts the location where the terminal for the horn contacts will eventually be inserted. It's the white plastic "tube" protruding above the column cover.....
Image
Next is the horn contact/steering wheel shroud. The contacts attach to it.....
Image
Here are the horn "buttons" that are on each side of the steering wheel. The horn contact assemblies sit directly beneath them.....
Image
This picture shows the mounting location for the horn contacts on each end of the steering wheel shroud....
Image
This view shows the horn contact assembly attached to the shroud....
Image
Both sets of contacts attached and ready for installation into the steering wheel and column
Image
This picture shows the brass horn contact terminal that allows power through the column in order for the horns to function properly....
Image
The upper left hole in the steering wheel is where the terminal end of the horn contacts is inserted....
Image
The spring from a horn contact assembly kit is installed....
Image
Followed by the terminal end and plastic retaining ferrule....
Image
This view shows the plastic ferrule that is retaining the spring and contact terminal....
Image
Now the horn contact/steering wheel shroud can be attached to the steering wheel....

Jim,
I didn't know for sure if you would be able to recover your sticky thread(s) on the "other" forum so I posted some pics and descriptions of the horn contact installation that I documented for you. If you still have these pics....please delete this thread so that it doesn't take up unecessary space on server.

Kind Regards,
David F.
