Is this worth a hoot?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 2759.l1259

I just sent the seller a question on the size of the tubes and how many rows of tubes.

The price is definitely great !!!!! I would ask more questions in regards to the shroud mounting locations........the picture on Ebay doesn't seem to show where the clips for mounting an original shroud are located. Just an observation  .....not bashing the vendor :noway:

That looks like a very nice radiator.

The pic does show where the lower shroud mounts should be, but they ain't there. Summit sells some that attach with the lower mounting bolts, or you can just let it hang. Mines been hanging for years. I keep trying various sorts of glue to attach the clips to the radiator but it always comes loose.

x2 on the price. Prolly 1/3 the price other aluminum radiators I have see. At that price most likely they are imported. With labor being a big component of manufacturing something like this the one area that could be an issue would be qualtiy control on the welding processes.

The sellers rating is good along with the feeback that I looked at also being positive. For $135 doesn't seem you can go wrong and warranty doesn't sound bad either....................................

100% Money Back Guarantee.
We will exchange or refund 100% of your money (Including All Shipping Costs) If:
· Your radiator does not fit
· Your radiator does not cool your engine
· Your radiator leaks
· Contains manufacture’s defects
· Or for some reason you just do not like it
You can purchase from us without worry because our guarantee gives you unconditional protection.

If you decide to try one post your results and maybe some pictures as recd and installed, I am sure there are many other FirstGeners that would like to know how it goes for you.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm going to buy it as soon as the seller responds to my question about the tube sizes and how many rows.

X2. Threads like that can be made into "Stickys" so they'll help others that are contemplating a radiator replacment.

There's also this radiator http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... &viewitem= which doesn't seem as nice. I also sent this Ebayer an email and just received a response which follows:

Thanks for the inquiry. This radiator has 1 row of
1" tubes and 1 row of 1/2" tubes. I don't know the
total # of rows, I don't keep these at my
location.
I will tell you that we have sold a ton of these
and they work great. This is also available in a 3
row if your interested. Please let me know if you
have any other questions.
Thanks
Rick

I was hoping the tubes would both be 1" like the Summit Racing one. I'm anxious to see the response of the Champion radiator.

So, I called Champion radiator and found out that their tubes are all 3/4".

Champion makes a 2 and 3 core radiator for the 20-3/4" wide and 23" wide core. Both will fit all 67-69 Camaro's.

The 3 core 23" radiator is rated for up to 750hp.

The 2 core 23" radiator is rated for up to 550hp from one seller and 350hp from another seller.

Either way, these seem like a decent radiator for the price. They are backed by a good warranty. If I had 500+ hp, I wouldn't cut this corner, but since I'm stock I'll take the chance.

Summit racing and Jeg's dual core aluminum radiator has two 1" tubes which equals 2". A three 3/4" core Champion will equal to 2-1/4" of radiator cores, but more surface area with the additional aluminum.

My engine is a stock 350 and I probably does not need anything larger than the 2 core, but I will get the 3 core since I have A/C. It's been 90 degrees here lately, so it will be a good test.

Remember to take several pictures during the upgrade so they can be posted here for future reference.
