I played around this weekend and I bought a Proform Body for the 750 Vac sec 3310S carb that I am currently running on my 396...I could not believe the differance it made on low end throttle response, mid range, and WOT...
I took the bowls and metering blocks off a 670 Holley Avenger carb that I had laying around the garage and put them on the the 750 Proform body...I put the 72 jets in the primaries and I replaced the secondary metering plate with the metering block form the 670 Avenger using the 76 jets...
And of course I had to use the throttle plate from the 750 Vac Sec 3310S to make this combination work...The differance this made right off the bat was the adjustment on the air fuel mixture screws...
The 396 ran the best with the air fuel mixture screw one full turn out on the original set up (750 Vac Sec 3310S)...With new set up I had to adjust the air fuel mixture screw out 2 1/4 turns to achieve the highest vac reading...
I have read numerous post on the other site stating problems with utilizing the Proform body on Vac Sec carbs but this was not the case with my set up...
I just wanted to share this test with others...Not sure if this this will work for other folks but I can not be more thrilled about the performance....
