The 95 S10 I have is an OBDI system with the transitional OBDII connector. When an OBDII scanner is used it reads TPS, but when I test the TPS with a voltmeter it reads fine. I understand that this was the same as in 94-95 Vettes & Camaros. Can I jump the pins with a paperclip like the OBDI to get the correct codes? And if so what pins do I jump? I've been told to pull the connector and jump the 2 black or possibly the black and black w/white stripe wires. This is a cheap project & buying a scanner & adaptor for OBD1.5 is not an option.
So far I have replaced the TPS, IAC, cleaned the 2 year old EGR, and cleaned and used dialectric lube on all of the sensor connectors. It seems fine today, but the pattern is to run fine for a day or 2 and then the service engine light comes on and the idle goes to 1500 and it will surge at times.
Any help is appreciated guys.

I found a post on one of the LT1 Camaro forums that said to key in the model & year before reading the scanner. So the guy at Autozone broke out a different scanner this time, he had to key in '96 S10 (mine is a late year '95) and the only code was Evap cannister purge valve. But Autozone does not sell it. So I went to Pep Boys and put it in this morning. So far it runs great, Hopefully that issue is fixed now because everything else works perfectly. Hope this will help someone else.

Cool glad to hear you got it. Other than a vacuum leak don't no what effect a bad purge solenoid has on FI engines, On carbureted ones it would suck the fuel out of the float bowl.
