Greetings Firstgens Members,
It's been a while since I've posted so I thought I would ask this question on a PCV recommendation.
I know PCV valves are calibrated according to vacuum pressure...I recently replaced my cam with a hydraulic Comp roller cam and my vacuum is now around 8"...

I couldn't decide on which PCV valve to get so I ordered both the CV736C and the CV746C...Which PCV valve is calibrated lower and which one would work best?

Any thoughts/opinions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Mike

Interesting question, I don't know but if you are getting oil out of the breather try the other one. Not very technical, but it should work.

Don,
Thanks for the reply...I haven't driven the car on the street yet, just waiting for the PCV valves to arrive before I take it on the road...The current PCV valve is a 90 degree angle one I bought from Auto Zone and I believe it's just a plain stock valve for low compression engines.

The Flat Tappet cam I was running before gave me about 14" vacuum so I figure I would replace the PCV valve since I only have 8" vacuum now before I take it out on the road...

I also ordered the correct PCV hose with clamps from Ricks Camaro because the CV736C and CV 746C valves are straight.

The 736C is the standard pcv valve speced for all V8's with rochester q-jets.

The 746C was speced for v8's with Holley carbs, including the Z/28 302, LT1 350, and LS6 454.

I don't think I'm too far out on a limb suggesting the 746 was better suited for engines with bigger cams and lower manifold vacuum.
