Had an absolute blast at Road America this past weekend for the VSCDA (vintage stock car drivers association) event. What an awesome gathering and so many great cars to see and watch run on the track. Went up with my wife and met up with several friends, The highlights of my weekend were the Touring Sessions held during lunch hour both days where you are allowed to take your personal vehicle on the track for approximately 1 hour. Due to oil spilled on the track both days right prior to the Touring Session our time on the track was reduced but we were still able to get 7-8 complet laps each time. Day 1 had about 55 cars in the group and day 2 had about 63. We were sent out in 3 equal groups each having a pace car which you were not allowed to pass at anytime, passing was allowed in any of the straighter sections but not in the corners and speed was to be held to approximately 65mph (yeah right!). My brother Bob joined me on the first day and took the attached professionsal quality in car video for about 1.5 laps. Day to a friends mother joined me, this day we were able to pickup the speed a bit more.............120+mph
between turn 3 and 4........
A little track history on Road America......it is a 4.1 mile course with 14 turns situated on 650 acres located in Elkhart Lake WI.
Anyways here is the video.....Enjoy, I did!
I will post up some pictures from the weekend later on too.
