Hello all,

I'm getting a late start this season, but have a few things I need to complete on my Camaro. I have a '69 and recently sold my center console and gauges. My car had it's gas gauge in the console, so now I'm looking to install an aftermarket unit in a gauge pod under the dash. The new gauge is an Auto Meter 90 ohm unit (which should work with a factory sending unit).

I still have the console wiring harness (that plugs into the main dash harness). My question is what console wiring harness wire(s) do I need to hook up to my new gauge and what should I look for back at the tank and sending unit?

My old gas gauge always read from emtpy to about a 1/4 tank, even when full, so there may be a ground issue for me to work through as well.

Thanks for any help someone can provide!

The Aim shows a T(tan) to the the tank from the guage
a B(black) to ground and
a P (pink?) from Ign.
With the tan disconnected from the tank (key on) the guage reads all the way past full With the tan grounded at the tank it should read below empty. ( or reversed I can never remember which)
