Santa gave me enough cash to spend about a $100 on myself. I'm thinking line lock. I've never pulled the rear drums off in the 7 or so years I've had the car, but I have to believe after many foot pedal burnouts they are not stopping anything anymore. Before I replace the rear brakes I'd like to have a line lock so I can play without burning up the new pieces (when I get to that later this winter. ) I'm also thinking that I'll be able to clean up the double distribution blocks I have (courtesy of the previous owners CPP front disk install)

I have the tools to bend my own lines. Are any kits better/worse than others? I'd rather not chase fittings, connectors etc. If you have one I'd like to hear about your install.

They are a pretty simple piece of equipment and all pretty much come with the some assortment of fittings that should be enough to get the job done. It also looks like a few of them use the same solenoid too(I think Hurst and Summit are similar). I used a Summit Line Loc kit and it works just fine. Just depends on whether you need a big name brand or you can live with the Summit or Jegs house brand. I would save the cash and go house brand on an item like this.

i installed the Hurst unit on our car, they are really a waste of time on a street car, tires are to much money to burn off and really means nothing doing so.If your running drag radials at the strip you don,t need to burn the crap out of them.I run nitto 555r,s and if you just give them a quick spin after the water to clean them off you are good to go.If you want to be John Force then install one.
Mark.

I'd love to be John Force. If I was a practical guy I'd have a Dodge Colt.
I'm sensible most of the time, the Camaro is for making me smile  If it involves the senseless roasting of the remains of dinosaurs through combustion or friction I like it.

Hey Don like Tom said house brand is probably made by the same company making Hurst or B&M.

I used the house brand too. Took them 3 tries to send me one that actually functioned!

As for the plumbing... I can't really see enough in the picture to advise you on that. I would think you "should have" only a mid 70's vintage "combo" valve, nothing else. It would install in place of the factory distribution block. I don't know what that thing is, or why your factory block is still there..

I use the line lock a lot for holding the car at a red light on a hill...

Don, I think the line locks are cool. Not necassarily useful in an auto, but cool. Plenty of recommendations here, I'd go with a brand I trust if it were me. And get stainless lines from classic tube to make it work. Heck for cool factor I might put in two, one for both fronts for John force style burnouts, and another for only left front to help do wicked cool donuts. :woohoo: :3gears:

Tim that gave me the biggest smile I've had in quite a while.
Allen thanks for the tip, unfortunately another negative turn in events has appeared on my path so this too will have to wait.

Has any one installed one in the two piece rear line in place of the block that normally is there? I'm close to buying front to rear brake line and wondering if I should get the two piece one.
