Looking for some help.... I have a '68 Camaro with console and the horseshoe automatic shifter. I'm wanting to change it up a bit and change out the woodgrain look on the shifter plate. I'm looking for either an insert to install on the plate or just changing out the whole plate.

If anybody knows somebody who sells this let me know... I've looked and can't find anybody.

I like the rosewood of the 69 so I've never looked for an alternative. If you have a flat plate in front of the shifter you could cover it with contact paper and the area around the shifter to match. If you have guages in front perhaps paint over the wood grain to match the guage panel.

Shawn, not sure if you are still looking or not, but The Parts Place sells a plate on eBay that will either replace the shift plate or you can replace the shift plate and the forward plate (if you don't have gauges). They are billet and aren't cheap. Here's an example:

Hope this helps....Eric

Like Jeff posted above...the wood gran is just a bit od contact paper....which can be brought pre cut from places like classic industries
In the 69 matching the rose wood with steering wheel sets things off nice, un matched the interor doesnt look right no flow of design.
Matching in with the dash sections is even better but the big slab of wood grain on the glove box is way to much and in your face,,,design mistake, shame really.....
