This winter I plan to pull the seats, console & carpet and dynamat the floors (hopefully I find nothing unpleasant) While I have that all out, hopefully for the last time, is there anything else I should think about doing? I hate doing things twice.

Don, The first thing that comes to mind are wires. 2 to 4 coaxials for low level audio, a 4-8 gauge power feed for an amp, exatra wires for fuel pump, amp control, speaker wires. Much easier to run everything possible while everything is out.

What about better seats? DjD and many others say fourthgen seats fit well and sit great.

If needed, wire brush and put a fresh coat of paint on the floors before you put the dynomat down.

I am severly limited budget wise right now. So the current seats & belts will have to do (they are stock but with new covering) . The Dynamat is left over from doing the roof this summer. With the lap & shoulder belts both on I don't slide around too much. Thanks to Tom I now have my mig welder sorted out, so I'm going to get a big honkin' tub to put all the carpet in (un heated non-attached garage ) to keep any critters away and start pulling everything out soon. Photo's to follow, hopefully of a nice solid floor.

X2 on the re-coat of the floor. Take a very close look at the old seam sealer areas where trouble could start. If anything, just a clean up with paint prep and a fresh coat of rust encapsolator from eastwoods will give you a peace of mind, plus it looks good! http://www.eastwood.com/catalog/product ... tegory/26/

If I had it that far down I would pull the kick panels and at least vaccum out the cowls. Would not hurt to spray some rustproofing in there as well (eastwood makes a good product that will never harden)

Even with budget restrictions, remove the 1/4 windows and clean the track guides. The rollers are cheap if broken. You will very happy when those windows roll up and down smoothly.

All good suggestions. I probably can't paint/seal until the weather gets a lot warmer but that gives me 3 months to work on it when I shouldn't be driving the car anyway, unless I was slightly crazed and lived in Yorkville.
