Hello all --

First, THANK YOU, JIM, for all your help!

Like many of you, I assume, Jim has been helping me out over on camaros.net for a while. Tonight, I told a local TC friend that "JimM" had just solved my tail light problem, and he said, "Oh, yeah! Jim and I have been friends for a long time. He's a great guy! He owns firstgens.com. You should check it out."

Glad I checked it out! I thought I actually had visited the site before, but maybe I saw another version, because I don't recognize this layout. Is it new? Regardless, it's a great set up, and I'm thrilled to find another great Camaro forum!

Anyway -- on to why we're here: our cars... I bought my first Camaro in June. It's a 69. I'm so happy everytime I get in it, I can't see straight. Saved money from the time I got out of the Marine Corps about 7 years ago and finally bought my dream car: a 69.

Originally a base coupe LF7 327 w/ powerglide, 12A build date, Le Mans Blue, Ivory houndstooth, 8.2, 2.73, no posi. Basically, everything but the rearend is long gone. Trans was replaced long ago by equally boring 67 PG. Has a crate 350 and a 67 PG in it now. Not much fun to drive right now, but having a 700r4 being built as we, err... type. Planning on doing a 8.5 swap at some point. Saving pennies. Unfortunately, the prev owner badged it as a Z, and drilled holes in the body accordingly... It has a lot of rinky dink stuff that needs to be corrected, but don't we all?

I'm going to patch the holes, repaint eventually, but that's way down the road. You can see in this link the racing seats and autometer they had that I've sold and/or swapped for OEM stuff. If it looks old, that's my new stuff; if it looks new, that's the old stuff that I got rid off. (Basically just seats and gauges so far.) I know lots of people want to get rid of OEM dash stuff for stock, but I want it to look plain Jane on the outside and be a total sleeper under the hood. Have people let their guard down and what not.

Happy to be here -- Zac

Howdy Zac, glad I could help with the tail lights, that was "my last post" last night.
This is my first this morning, I'll pop across the street and get the details.

Thanks for coming by firstgens, hope you like it here, and hope you come back often and contribute much. This is a picture friendly site. You can upload an avatar, and all members can directly attach photos. Our software even automatically resizes everything to fit, even the avatar!

We've been adding quickly to our tech articles section, and of course we have 2 classifieds, one here in the forum, and a main classified under the mani menu.
Also every member gets an unlimited gallery page, again, under the main menu.
