Hey I'm new here.

I had a '68 waaay back many years ago but I haven't had another early Camaro until now.

I just picked up a '67 that is in sad shape and is going to need a lot of work because of previous owner repairs and changes everywhere. At one point this was a drag car and I"m guessing it didn't race at NHRA tracks.

It is currently yellow with black stripes and some awful quality paint application, plus it appears to have had quarter panels replaced and done wrong because the lines on the back of the door don't match the lines at the front of the quarter, among other issues where panels don't line up. It has saggy doors, wrinkly carpet, a butchered dash (there was an aftermarket speedo and tach laying in the dash and the tach was not even wired up to anything. There is a 6 point roll bar that has some ugly welds and the rear bars that go into the trunk are made from 2 pieces with a joint in the middle instead of being bent to fit, plus one of the trunk bars was never welded in at all. It has a fuel cell and battery mounted in the trunk. There is a fiberglass cowl on the steel hood which has a hole cut in it, and around the cowl piece it is cracking because even that was not installed correctly.

On the positive side, it runs great, drives nice, tracks straight and turns easily. Mechanically it appears to be in great shape with a recently rebuilt engine and trans. the floors have been patched and are solid.

Welome to First Gens Todd! I am a second gen guy myself but there are many knowledgeable FG guys around here so if you have questions during your rebuild I am sure someone here can help. Like Jeff mentioned go ahead a start a progess thread and fill it full of pics becasue we like those a lot.
