I went to download Byron pics. I can down load pics (single or bulk) but can't put in new folder/file. Seems I have just the downloader and nothing to help organize the pics. What's up with that?

The gallery is trickyer than it needs to be...
One problem with "public license" software is it seems to be written by computers geeks for computer geeks.

From the beginning:
Go to YOUR gallery. Easiest is to hit the GALLERY link on the left when you are looking at one of your posts.
OR hit the gallery link in the gray bar (brings up everyones galleries) then hover on that same gallery linl on the gray bar again, "Your gallery, Upload here" drops down, click it.

Create your MAIN CATEGORY, click the main category tab and fill in the title and description and save it.

Note that everyone can have one main category, and as many, and as many levels, of nested subdirectories as desired.

The Main Category title is what appear when you hit gallery in the menu, recommend you use your user name.

In the subcategory screen, there is an unlabelled selection box, circled below. It "should" be labelled "PARENT CATEGORY" but of course since this was written by computer geeks for computer geek, we should all ready know that.

When you make your first subcategories, be sure to drop that down and select your MAIN CATEGORY there.
You can make nested subs by selecting the name of another sub category there. As you can see, I have a number of nested subs, such as "My Camaro >> Paint and Body"

I'll roll on thru the rest of this later, but it is the same thing. In the upload picture box, you need to select both the category and subcategory the pics belong in, BEFORE you upload them. I think you can go back l8r and change it too.

OK Progress, but not of the good kind! When I mouse ove the picture gallery box on the menu bar I don't get the "YOUR GALLERY, UPLOAD HERE" under it like in your post. I'm sure that's part of the reason I don't get anything like what's in the rest of your posts.

Mouse over "picture gallery" and click on it. Once the galleries pop up mouse over it a second time & the drop down box will appear. Call me and we'll set up a time I can walk you through it if that doesn't work. PS. I have the matching back shocks set aside for you to go with those fronts.

That works Don. At least so far. The proper things come up now but I haven't changed it. I'm switching between this and the Chicago Marathon, My Son in Law is on pace to complete in 2:45. Thanks for saving those shocks for me.

So, we got subcategories happening. Each p[rimary sub is a child of YOUR MAIN GALLERY.
If you want nested subs, be sure to select the correct parent when you make your subcategories.

Mine was getting to crowded, so I made a new sub off Jim's garage called "Road Trips" and put several of my subs in there, so now my list looks like this:

Looking at the list, you can see that many of the subs are in the subcategorie road trips.
Eventually, there will be many subs behind Jim's Camaro, not just paint and body.

I need to see how to enable full editing of their own gallery for everyone, but untill I do, if you need to rearrange your sub categories, pm me, Don, or Jan, and we can go into the backend and rearrange em for you.

When you first go into images, you see a list of every image in your gallery. The rightmost column, circled, tells you what category/subcategory that image is in. You can't do much in this section, but you can edit captions and desciptions, and you can delete images.

You cannot change the categoriy an image is in, but the admins can. again, I'm working on giving you that control, ion the meantime, pm me, Don, or Jan, and we'll try to fix it.
