Today we discovered that our banner page is what is screwing up some site emails, particularly "I forgot my password"
Jan and I installed a handler for the banner, and hopefully now registration, and site emails will work better.

The behavior of the site is a little different.
ALL links you may have saved to bypass our pretty banner page should now be disabled.
You "VILL" go straight to the banner, for 4 seconds, then you'll be brought into the site.

It seems the first time you hit anything inside the forum, new posts, active posts... you will see the banner again, for 4 seconds.
If even that is too long to wait, there is a "skip to content" button at the top left.

Me too! I want a bigger monitor Santa Jim so I can see everything on the page!

The change forcing the banner page first and then again was exactly as described. Not sure I care for it, never had any login in problems like the guys with "other" kind of computers have seen.

I couldn't tell you as I haven't gotten emails in 7mos. So I manually enter the site from the main page anyway.

oddly, at home on my laptop, I'm not seeing the banner page at all

And no. I haven't changed the site width...
it is 1080 pixels, same as it's been for a while. We need that so the google ad fits, cannot go any smaller.

Jeff and Tom, I have a surplus of slightly used 17" lcd's, we "upsized" all the monitors in the company a couple months ago... They'll do 1280 x 1024, I'll bring a couple with on Wednesday.

Now I don't get the front page at all. It opens right into the home page right away.

at work irt was every time i opened up the site, so let's just call this "under development"?

If people get thier emails, i guess its worth it.

So much for this experiment. We did some work to the banner page and such yesterday, and put the behavior back to normal. If you go to http://www.firstgens.com, you'll get the banner and sit there until yuo click on it.

If you go to a saved link inside the site, you will go there, and skip the banner
