Anyone have an opinion on whats the best way to add power steering (fast-ratio mod is what I'm looking for) to a 67 with manual steering now.

Crate350 with no accessories, so I'm gonna have to buy everything - pump, pulley, hoses, box, ragjoint, etc.

Any opionions as where to start? Should I get all stock 67-69 stuff or is there a better "kit" to start from.

Rob

I used a 67 Caprice for the pump, pulleys, brackets, hoses, and a 69 Judge for the box,
Firebird, for the steering arms. Oh by the way the A/C came out of the Caprice also.
My tilt telly column, and power windows are out of a 71 Caddy. Buy them cheep option from the junk yard. :waving:

I don't know if there is an actual kit out there. You can get a rebuilt 87-92 I-ROC or T/A box(Cardone part#276550 which is the fast ratio box, with some effort),power steering pump,Moog pitman arm (if you need to change it,I think the correct one is like 5 7/8"),hoses at any auto parts store, line adapters for the new box (they install in the new box,it's metric your old one isn't),new rag joint at Lee Manufacturing 1-818-768-0371,they are familiar with the swap.I'm sure you could find the misc. parts(pulleys, brackets) at one of the resto houses or maybe the bone yard.I seem to remember having to remove a check valve on the Cardone box that I used, with it in it ran a little too hot.Nice improvment over stock with out blowing the budget.Long or short water pump on the crate motor, makes a difference with brackets and pulleys.http://www.alangrovecomponents.com does carry an assortment of after market pulleys and brackets,I used one of their brackets for my P/S pump, nothing fancy but it worked.

First place I would look for parts and kits is eBay. I see them on there all the time. Complete new kits and parts that you want.
