Anodized or Powder Coated Calipers & Brake Dust...

I'm trying to determine what type of finish on a disc brake caliper will withstand the brake dust better......a clear anodized finish or a powder coated finished???? What's everyone's experiences with either finish and brake dust????????

Hi David..my Wilwood brakes are powdercoated in the front , and anodized in the rear. Now when it comes to looks and cleaning i like the Powdercoated better.I just spray a bit of detail spray and they wipe right up. just my 2 cents.

Thanks for your input Mark!!! I can get either finish for the same amount of money and I've always liked how powder coated parts look.

It takes so long to clean these things up after driving them, i just found detail spray or simple green and they wash up just like new.

As said, powder coat is the easiest to maintain.
If you're going to invest in P/C, you might want to stainless sleeve the calipers before coating as this way you can keep the calipers forever.

There is one place around here that does powder coating using UV rays and not heat. The stuff i saw came out very nice .
