Hi guys. Question for the experts (Jerry...).

I've got an authentic 69SS/RS350. The person who owned it since about 1990 is certain that the car originally came with the finned aluminum valve covers ala the Z28. I have seen lots of discussion on other sites with the general concensus being that the 350SS came only with the stamped orange valve covers. Some say that if the car did come new with the finned aluminum covers it could only be as a dealer installed option.

Is it possible that the car came from the factory with the finned aluminum covers.
Thanks.

Im far from an expert but I believe the finned covers could only be possible if they were dealer/owner installed.

No expert here either but I think factory finned covers on a 350 started in 1970.

All SS350 cars with L48 engine received painted valve covers, no exceptions.

Hope this helps.
