...they pull me back in.
I picked it up today in Brandon, FL and just got back a couple of hours ago. I will post more pics when I get a chance.
It's orignally a X11 RS, 350 2bbl, PS, PW, A/C, Powerglide car, and 10 bolt rear. The guy I bought it from had owned it since high school, Original Colors were Daytona Yellow, with Standard Ivory Interior. I have a ton of documentation from when he bought it in 1986. He changed the interior to black, the tranny is now a th350, and the rear end is a 12 bolt out of a 69 Camaro. He also added the "SS" badging which I am not crazy about because obviously it's not a real "SS", I will probably change those back to the proper "RS" emblems. I got the original numbers matching 350 with the car, right now it has a modified 350 in it with a pretty heavy cam, and holley 750. The car has front disc brakes too but I think he added those.
He restored it over the years and it has all GM sheet metal, and I looked real hard and can not find a hint of bondo or filler anywhere on the car. I thought the paint job on my "Z" was incredible but this one puts that car to shame, and the underside and interior is as clean as the outside. He did remove all the vacuum lines for the headlights but gave me all of those components as well along with some other odds and ends. Of course he threw away the a/c compressor years ago when he was young. No a/c makes more HP. LOL
