I always wanted a good sized blast cabinet. I found this home made one I had to pick up about 30 miles from home for free. No time tonight to do any detailed inspection, but there is a grid for the media to fall through, a foot pedal with a rope and pulley hooked to a valve for the air pressure, an air tip, a valley tipe drain for the media and some other hoses I have to figure out. It's 35 x 50 x 72 And free is good

Looks like it will do what it is intended to do and free is good! Good thing you have that big ole air compressor cus you will definitely need the CFM's for sandblasting.

Times two to what Tom said about CFM. I think my blast cabinet uses more air than my pressure pot. That cab looks to be well made. I can't tell if it has a light or a vac. YOu probably will need both. You're gonna have fun detailing all kind a little stuff now. Enjoy!

I wonder if the extra hose fitting inside is to blow off parts before removing from cabinet with an air gun? I' never really found a need to blow the parts off much except spark plugs and those I want to see what I doing. Is the foot pedal operated valve spring loaded? If not how does it shut off? Just studied the set up inside,, how does it pick up the media?

Well it's a beautifull day & I'm heading out to the garage to rework this beast with some donated parts from a good friend. Anyone who's bored enough to stop by is wecome to share a cold pop or beer, shoot the breeze and generally goof off in my garage. :beers: I plan to cut off the old wheels, weld on some bigger ones more suited to my crappy floor, add some bracing to the frame and redo the hoses and fittings. Phone & address are in the South Siders only section.

I do love my Sawsall, cut off the old wheels like nothing. tacked the new wheels in place and ran out of gas. Not in the mood to swap in the flux cored wire and switch polarity, so I guess I'll have to go across the street and have a couple of cold ones instead. I'll finish up tomorrow (maybe)

Strange I posted a reply to this in the Morning, but it's not here. Anyway reworked the frame and added the new wheels.

Combined left over from the original set up, parts I had, & parts my friend gave me to make a new set up.

Now I have an older Snap On blast gun and a seperate air nozzle to blow the parts clean.

Next will be the lighting and the media pickup for the gun (I did not have any 1/2" id hose)
