OK my turn for some gratuitus tool porn. :woohoo:
I've been eyeing up horizontal band saws for yrs, but they seem to take up too much floor space. And I'm sick of cutting stuff by hand (grinder, sawzall, cutoff tool) And ordered up a cold saw. Granted not the $2000 DAKE model, but...

I know it's only copper, but I wanted to see how accurate and narrow I could cut. (very little distortion even on soft copper cut this thin.

The burrs look heavy but keep in mind this is only 0.125"x1.25" blown up.

And the best part it's MUCH quieter, and cleaner than my buddies chop saw. And the cuts are cool to the touch as soon as you lift the blade. I will admit I was a little apprehensive on the first cut, but it cuts fast and clean.

Congratulations on the new saw. Quiet is not a word normally used with a chop saw. Every one I have ever used sounds like it's making it's last cut just before it explodes.

Very nice. I'm cheap, bought a cut off blade sized for an extra compound mitre saw I had. Makes a huge amount of sparks, not terribly accurate, loud & obnoxious, all good VS the hack saw or cut off wheel.

Some people think I'm out of my mind, but in my defense it's pretty scary in there!
