Well after years of drooling over them in the stores and waiting for them to never go on sale I finally broke down and hauled one home last week. This one should be big enough for anything I ever need. People have asked enough about getting these things home and moved into place I figured I'd take some pics while I did it.

I made some isolator pads to help quiet it as much as possible.

It's half as loud as my old oil-less one was. In fact had it running over the weekend and my wife didn't even complain about the noise from this one. :hurray:

Nice looking compressor Harley! I am sure that one blows some good CFM's.

You're gonna enjoy that Ingersoll-Rand compressor  2 things to consider...if you haven't already....

1.Use Ingersoll-Rand All Season compressor pump oil if you want to keep the 3 year pump warranty intact.

2.Purchase a high quality FRL(filter, regulator, lubricator) such as an ARO(Ingersoll-Rand manufactured) # C38331-610. It has a max. inlet pressure of 250 psi. Do not use the Campbell Hausfield that is sold at TSC...they are rated for 150 psi inlet pressure and I could be wrong but I think your compressor has a pressure switch that is set for 175 psi like mine.

Thanks all.
My buddy that helped me bring it in the garage and I have been drooling over this thing for yrs now. WE both have good oil-less compressors that put out 5.7 cfm, and both wanted more after we had them for a few yrs. I figure the one I had lasted me 17+ yrs and still works great so if I was going to upgrade I was only going to do it once. I looked at some of the 2 stage systems, but I don't need 175+ psi as most of what I do is at 90-125 psi. So I went for the highest cfm I could find. There where others I looked at like the one Tom got this summer, but in the end I decided to spend the extra $150 and get the one I've drooled over for soo long and not look back. I can't see myself ever needing more air than this one has.

And David it came with 1 qt of all season, but I called IR before I bought it to find out what I needed to do for the warranty and they said I didn't need the start up kit like there site says, but I did need to buy more oil to show I used it. SO I bought another qt and put it in the cabinet so I'm covered. As far as lines/filters. I've had the garage plumbed since I built this house with hard lines all around the garage with 3 drops, each with it's own regulator, filter, drain, and hose real.

I also used this bad boy last week when my angle grinder locked up in the middle of a project and it's half as loud as my oil less was. (wife didn't even complain when I had it running at 11pm). :hurray: Now it's not silent by any means put very noticeable db drop. And it had no trouble keeping up with my die grinder, cut off tool, and angle grinder.

Sounds like winner to me Harley
On a different note I am thinking about plumbing the garage for mine, maybe you could write something up and start a thread on it.
