This was the dragstrip of my youth, gone but not forgotten. I could hear the engines roar from my back yard in Aurora so I'd ride my bike out there every Sunday the summer I turned 16.

Dragstrip of my youth too. I remember hiding in the weeds next to the guardrail at the 50 foot line, watching the top fuel cars run, wow!

That was my first introduction to "bracket" type racing. There was an older guy in a station wagon who ran against a rail. The wagon left the line & I think I drank 1/2 my beer before the rail left.
